Network Security: Sites, Forums and Tools That Help You

Network security analysis is becoming a necessity for corporate industries. Computer network security services range from managed network security services to network
security services managed by in-house professionals. All the possible means are being employed by companies to keep their networks secure. The small and medium enterprises are also waking up to the need of network security services for the networks they have deployed. With tele-working and internet becoming increasingly integrated into everyday life home users are waking up to the harsh reality of internet thefts and financial scams. Credit card scams, phising, pharming, port scans, botnets, Trojans, worms and many other security threats have only highlighted the need for greater security.

The foremost consideration would be to look at the existing network and perform a network security analysis to know the exact issues with the present network. The network may be badly configured. The configuration may need to be changed for the security to be more effective. After the change of the architectural configuration then the necessary checks for malware and other weak points are done. The malware is removed by removal software and then the weak points are made strong by the software that does the work, or other methods in changing the configuration manually can be adopted.
Network Security Analysis
This can be done by hiring a consultant. There are some consultants who have the additional certification of CEH-Certified Ethical hacker. These consultants perform the entire test to see if your network can withstand attacks by hackers. Internet penetration testing is done; keeping in mind the various weaknesses in the operating system, application programs and the IP protocol. The usual method that is followed is network enumeration (trying to get information about the network and the target). The next two strategies would be vulnerability analysis and network exploitation.

You could also do the same by using a variety of softwares in the market for vulnerability testing and intrusion detection. Some downloads can be obtained for free. This detailed list is based on a variety of computer security topics which have been covered in the other articles on our site.
